The Alamo Chapter will operate as a nonprofit organization in Texas and will be an agent of the Association of Contingency Planners (ACP), a nonprofit organization incorporated in the State of California. The Alamo Chapter is dedicated to serving the contingency planning, information-gathering requirements of its membership. The Alamo Chapter organization is located in the San Antonio, Texas area.
1. To provide an organized forum, enabling its members to discuss and investigate the spectrum of organizational, management and technical issues relative to contingency planning, disaster recovery, crisis management, emergency management and/or business resumption planning. 2. To accumulate, exchange and disseminate information, share experiences of mutual interest or value, and advance the effective usage of contingency planning, disaster recovery, crisis management, emergency management and/or business resumption planning. 3. And, in compliance with ACP Bylaws and ACP Corporate Board policies, to provide information gathering and exchange services to remote and/or isolated communities pursuant to membership requirements.
All Officers, Directors and Committee chairpersons come from the Membership of the chapter. It should be noted that some positions are mandatory while some are optional based on need and level of development within the chapter.
MEMBERSHIP The Alamo Chapter membership is open to all business professionals interested in contingency planning, crisis management, disaster recovery and/or business resumption issues, regardless of race, color, sex, age, religious affiliation, handicap or national origin. The Alamo Chapter members agree to be bound by the ACP “Code of Ethics”. A signed “Code of Ethics” form from each member is required and will become a permanent record of the ACP Corporate. Upon meeting membership requirements, a Corporate Membership Card and Membership Certificate are issued to each member. Membership includes both ACP Corporate and Chapter voting privileges. Only (1) member per organization may serve as a member of the Chapter Board of Directors, which includes Executive Committee and Director positions. The position of Past President is excluded from consideration of ACP organization representation on any Executive Committee or Board of Directors, as this position has no voting rights.
Corporate Dues: The ACP Corporate membership dues are set and assessed according to the Corporate By Laws. Changes must be approved by the entire membership. Chapter Dues: The Chapter Executive Committee determines the Alamo Chapter dues. Changes are approved by the Alamo Chapter membership.
In order to maintain cohesiveness in the organization and provide on-going input for the planning and budgeting process, it is necessary to begin the Election Process in September of each year. A Nominating Committee is appointed by the chapter president in September. The Alamo Chapter nominating committee shall consist of three (3) Alamo Chapter members in good standing. Any Chapter member in good standing may volunteer to be part of the Nominating Committee. CHAPTER MVP AWARD Each year, a member of the Alamo Chapter is recognized for outstanding contribution to the chapter with the MVP award. MVP Award Winners 2009- Michelle Vickers MEETINGS Timing for Alamo Chapter membership meetings will be held as determined by the Alamo Chapter Executive Committee. Location of the meetings may vary. Alamo Chapter Executive Committee meetings will be held monthly, with timing and location of meeting to be determined by the Executive Committee.
